A couple of days ago, I was thinking about how I schedule my life as a nomad and realised that I needed an unusual time management system. I needed something that’d hold me to spending enough time on work, travel, my own projects and life admin; while being flexible enough to deal with a lot of the unpredictability that comes with this lifestyle.
An hour and a half later, and I’d built this app: a tiny thing that lets me choose a major and minor focus for each day, while having goals for how much I do of each activity in a 4 week ‘sprint’. I’m testing it out this week and am going to put it into practice next week.
This sort of thing is why I think it’s important that everyone learn to program. I don’t think everyone should be a developer, but the ability to customise the technology in your pocket, to make small things that improve your life, is massive.
