A 3d print of a representation of stars within 10 parsecs of the sun (which is in the middle), using the same data that I used in ‘The Neighbourhood’. Position is based on each star’s relative position on the galactic plane, and the size of each star is based on its absolute magnitude (how much light it puts out). #astronomy #science #3dprinting #stars #visualisation #cityscape
